Secret to killing AV:
Straight Tank

When AV uses one of his 2hours, you block it by having one of yours up.

It might be a fixed order, and not random.

i noticed Soul Voice, Mana Font, Mijin Gakure there,

When he used manafont, they blocked with soulvoice.

So if people can get the order of 2hours down, and time their use of 2hours, AV can be straight tanked without the fear of Manafont Meteor or chainspell meteor or benediction etc etc.

Since AV doesn't use 2hrs in any fixed period, it will be extremely hard to block benediction. <_<

The zooming of the chat log gets pretty silly after the 2nd-3rd time, it's like they're saying "READ THIS HERE O_O;;;". In my opinion they should just leave the players to find out how to defeat mobs, takes the challenge out of the game when the developers have to go and say "here's how you kill it" =/.

@Hidan: I don't think its just that, they used 6+ 2hrs (which also seemed kinda random to me) everytime AV used one... only other thing I noticed is them using Thunder I as soon as it was lightingsday... but they already said this helped somehow iirc.

On a side note: LOL@SE rdm tanking! I was scared they wanted to nerf our enmity spells cause they didnt mean rdm to tank, guess they'll let us be

slowed the video down and watched it for 2hr after he used his, counted 16 in total.

out of interest there set up based on the first set of 2hrs were: AV used soul voice

4blm, 3 whm, 3 brds, pld/nin (saw him using ni), drg, sam, smn, drk, rdm (guessing other 2 ppl were already dead or used their 2hrs)

[edit2] after checking again the missing 2 players who didnt 2hr were another pld/nin and another rdm

so set up was 4xblm, 3x whm, 3x brd, 2x pld/nin, 2x rdm/nin, drg, sam, smn, drk

Interesingly this time you see in the chat log "AV readies Chainspell" before he used it, ther 1st and 3rd times you don't, which could explain why only 3 ppl 2hred rather than more

All interesting stuff at any rate, likely the video was spliced together aswell time progression for the clips went:

3.12 ice (you see them fighting JoL)

23.57 ice (you see them fighting AV as is changes from ice > thunder day, also one pld 2hrs just before day change baraero is put up, but this is likely because AV started casting tornado II)

6.46 thunder (first 2hr clip)

5.02 thunder (second 2hr clip, also either a full week has past in vana time or it happened before)

12.06 ice (third 2hr clip, again either over a full week has past or happend before 1st 2 2hrs)

IMO Seems to be that you need to block his 2hr with the same one, but as certain ones are worse than others when it happens out-of-the-blue without the "readying" (as seen before the 2nd 2hr) more ppl 2hr'd to try stop it, in particular those jobs that stop the more annoying 2hrs such as astral flow, manafont, call wyvern chainspell

Agreeing with Wolffsrain here, it is cool they showed a hint in how to defeat it. At the same time it's also regrettable.
